We ground public policy in high-quality, reliable research.
HOME designs studies, collects data, and shares findings. We sponsor independent initiatives and partner with innovative academics, institutions, and applied researchers. We use a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to provide comprehensive data for policy-making about housing. We conduct large-scale surveys to gather representative data, carry out formal experimental studies to evaluate impact, and employ a variety of quantitative and qualitative methods that are fit for purpose. And we work to train the next generation of researchers and consumers of research.
- We prioritize respect for research participants in both data collection and data use.
- We work to eliminate barriers so everyone can participate and be represented in the data we collect and be heard through the findings we share.
- We share and discuss research findings and methodology with other researchers to advocate for equitable and ethical research practices.
