This page is part of our effort to make housing data more accessible to all New Yorkers.

The Where We Live Data Explorer is available in multiple languages — including Spanish, Bengali, Russian, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese — because New York City is one of the most linguistically diverse places in the world. To truly serve New Yorkers, information should be available in the languages people use every day.

At the Center for Research on Housing Opportunity, Mobility, and Equity (HOME), we believe language justice is about making sure people can access, understand, and use information that affects their lives — including housing — in the language that works best for them.

The Data Explorer is an interactive tool that shares information from the New York City Housing and Vacancy Survey (NYCHVS), helping people explore housing conditions across the city.

HOME is part of the City of New York, and our research is created for New Yorkers. We work to make data clear, useful, and accessible — so communities, advocates, and decision-makers can take action.

By offering this tool in multiple languages, we aim to support more inclusive conversations and a more equitable future for all New Yorkers.
